Good Strategy + Good Execution = Success

Vision Manufacturing Consulting has the expertise to help your business succeed, whether our team helps with strategy formulation or our team helps your business become excellent in execution. To be frank, it is relatively easy to find smart people in today’s world and hence it is relatively easy to formulate an excellent strategy. On the other hand, it is extremely difficult to find people that are able to execute. When you find people that can execute, make sure that you load these people up with work and make sure that you don’t let these people get away. Although Vision Manufacturing Consulting can and will help you analyze your business, industry and competition to make sure the strategy is correct, we will show you and help you become extraordinary at strategy execution. Every company is different and every company’s journey is at a different point in time so we will customize as necessary but we have found that to maximize your improvement and return on investment, we usually start with:

  • Cost Reduction
  • Increased Profitability
  • Top Line Revenue Growth
  • Increased Customer Satisfaction

During our assessment, we will flush out where the biggest opportunities are and adjust accordingly. We exist to service our customers so our assessment findings along with ownership’s priorities will determine our plan of attack. We always suggest that the first initiative is to assure that your customers perceive your company as a strong performing supplier, a “low-maintenance” supplier. This is crucial as the message that you should be sending your customers is that your company is easily meeting their expectations and that your company could handle more business, more volume.

Our Principal Consultant, Greg Grogan, has been in hundreds of manufacturing facilities around the world and one of his key observations from his experiences is that nearly all manufacturing companies have performance levels that form equilibrium among all of the functional areas. So what does this mean? If you are a mediocre performing company overall, then all of the functional areas of the organization are mediocre performers. If the company is performing poorly overall, then you will likely find that all of the functional areas are performing poorly. There are always exceptions, but over time most functional areas gravitate to the level of the company leadership and the functional areas surrounding them. So how does this leadership and people observation help us? Vision Manufacturing Consulting works with your company to make sure that all functional areas are scrutinized and improved as we know that excellence only comes about when the employees know what excellence looks like, the company has strong leadership in place, and all functional areas are performing well. Manufacturing companies are so integrated, that it is nearly impossible to have an excellent company without having all of your functional areas being excellent.
